Another memorable day with Cleo. Cleo has been taking the occasional steps since we were in China. But today, she just became walking crazy. She has been practicing with her walker. But today she just wanted to keep walking walking on her own. She is rapidly improving and can now walk a good 5-6 feet without any problem. It is quite the site as she smiles trying to walk around. She can now also stand up on her own without any help from furniture. It was amazing watching her try to walk wherever she was! Warming up with the walker Walker... I don't need no walker! The face of happiness |

Cleo awake on the plane... very, very awake We survived the flight home (nearly 13 hours...) rather drained. Cleo slept a total of 1.5 hours and wanted to play and be constantly looked after for the remainder of the flight. So it was, well, a little tiring. (Though the flight staff adored her and cooed over her on several occasions... while we desperately tried to get her to sleep.) By the time we were home we had been up constantly for over 24 hours. Fortunately customs and immigration were super fast, and our luggage was ready for pickup by the time we were at the luggage turnstile. So we zipped out of the airport pretty quickly. It was kind of strange as we were the first to get out of the airport security area and we were greeted by a large number of families awaiting the arrival of the other families with adopted children. So there were quite a lot of excited cheers as we walked out... the crowd was definitely on edge awaiting to finally see the girls that were joining their respective families! Luckily, we managed to get Cleo to sleep at 7:30pm and we followed her lead very shortly afterwards. (26.5 hours no sleep and counting at that point in time.) She woke up once in the night for feeding/changing/play time, and then slept through till 4:30am. I got up and played with Cleo while Steph got some much needed sleep. So hopefully this means we can get her switched over with the time change pretty quickly. We shall have to see as Cleo may have other plans for us. Now it is time to get settled in and comfortable in our surroundings. It will be a pretty quiet time for the three of us to let Cleo adjust. |

An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but will never break. - Chinese Legend We are over-the-moon excited to announce the referral of our daughter Cleo Adèle Jian After 15 long months of waiting, our invisible red thread has finally started to connect us with our daughter. She was born February 3, 2006 and is currently residing at the Yangdong SWI in Yangdong (city), Guangdong (province). She weighed 6.6 kgs and was 67cm tall on July 25th. We can barely wait to hold her in our arms in January!! Thanks to all of you for supporting us during this really stressful period of our lives. We are truly blessed (and so is she) to have such good friends and family around us.
